Meghan Markle’s first year in the royal family has been a busy one. She’s traveled quite a bit with Prince Harry by her side, and that means she’s had to pack and repack her wardrobe countless times over. What’s so cool about Meghan Markle is that a good portion of those clothes she’s packed have come from fashion companies who primarily deal in ethically-made, sustainable fashion. Here’s a look at some of her favorite sustainable brands.

Rothy’s

Rothy’s is a great option for trendy footwear that is as good for your feet as it is for your conscience. The company makes its shoes (like the flats Meghan is wearing above) from 100 percent recycled water bottles and other recycled shoes. The adhesives used in making the shoes are non-toxic and no part comes from animal products.

Outland Denim

Outland Denim is an Australian brand that offers the trendiest in jeans and denim wear but ensures that all of their products are made from organic materials. Plus, they focus 100% on the ethical production of their clothing. The company boasts that they know all of their seamstresses by name at their production facility in Cambodia and that they take every measure to ensure they take care of them through proper wages, training, and personal development.

Reformation

If you’re looking for something a little more formal than a pair of jeans, check out another of Meghan Markle’s favorite brands—Reformation. The company makes their impact on the environment completely transparent, with each product on their website coming with a RefScale so you can see exactly what the carbon footprint was in the production of that item.

Stella McCartney

For those looking for high-end fashion options that are good for the environment, take Meghan Markle’s advice and look no further than Stella McCartney. Their mission statement covers what’s most important to them. They don’t use fur and leather and take extra measures to stay away from sourcing materials from endangered and ancient forest regions. However, the products aren’t at all cheap, so all that eco-responsibility comes with a price.

Veja

If you’re looking for a casual sneaker that won’t keep you up at night wondering where the materials came from, Veja is the ticket!  The company makes sure to only source their materials from organic and ecologically friendly farms and avoid pollution and chemicals in their manufacturing processes. Plus, as you can see in Meghan’s picture above, they look great!
