Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore)
Before Kelly Bishop landed the role of Emily Gilmore, she was already a celebrated actress. She had a role in the classic film “Dirty Dancing” and won a Tony award for her performance on Broadway’s “A Chorus Line”. Since “Gilmore Girls”, Kelly has had recurring roles on TV series such as “Bun Heads”, “Mercy” and “The Good Wife”. Her most recent role was in the Gilmore Girls revival mini-series.
Scott Patterson (Luke Danes)
Stars Hollow’s local diner owner, Luke Danes was played by Scott Patterson. Throughout the show, viewers saw Luke and Lorelai dance around their secret love for each other. Luckily, we saw the two get together at the end of the original series. Since “Gilmore Girls”, Patterson had continued acting. His most prominent role was as Agent Strahm in 3 of the “Saw” franchise movies. However, 2018 looks like it may be a big year for Patterson, as he is credited with 3 roles ,in films that are currently in pre-production.
Keiko Agena (Lane Kim)
Rory’s childhood best friend and master of ingenuity, Lane Kim, was played by Keiko Agena. Due to her mother’s strict beliefs, Lane was always living a double life, developing schemes to deceive her mother. After her mother discovered her true identity, of a rock star, Lane was kicked out the house and began working as a waitress. One of Agena’s more recent and prominent roles since “Gilmore Girls” was as Pam Bradley, on the hit Netflix series “13 Reasons Why”.
Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore)
Before becoming Lorelai, Lauren Graham had roles on various sitcoms. However, along with the popularity of “Gilmore Girls”, came more roles. She appeared in films such as “Bad Santa”, “The Pacifier”, and “Because I Said So”. After “Gilmore Girls”, Lauren Graham appeared in a lead role, on another successful sitcom, “Parenthood”, from 2010-2015. Her most recent role was as Linda, in the 2017 TV movie, “Linda From HR”.
David Sutcliffe (Christopher Hayden)
Christopher Hayden is the father of Rory and Lorelai’s high school sweetheart. Through the series, viewers watch Lorelai and Christopher try to make it work, including a spontaneous wedding in Paris. However, they ultimately realize they do not belong together. Since playing Christopher, David Sutcliffe has appeared on series like “Private Practice”, “Cracked” and “Proof”. His most recent role was in the 2016 TV movie “Deadly Inferno”.
Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim)
Mrs. Kim was the mother of Rory’s best friend, Lane Kim. She owned Kim’s Antiques and was a strict follower of the Seventh Day Adventists. Her religious beliefs led to a strained relationship with her daughter. Mrs. Kim was played by Emily Kuroda. After “Gilmore Girls” wrapped in 2007, Kuroda has had recurring roles on several TV series such as “Under One Roof”, “Sequestered”, “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Just Us Guys”. She is also a decorated stage actress.
Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester)
Dean Forester, played by Jared Padalecki, moved to Stars Hallow in fall 2000. He and Rory quickly begin a whirlwind romance. However, it unfortunately led to Dean cheating on his wife with Rory in 2004. They get back together but they ultimately realize they are not right for each other. After “Gilmore Girls”, Padalecki jumped right into another hit series “Supernatural”. The show was recently renewed for its 13th season and Padalecki is expected to continue to star in the show.
Michael Winters (Taylor Doose)
Taylor Doose was a jack of all trades. He owned and operated Doose’s Market and an old-fashioned soda shop as well as ran town meetings as the town selectman. Doose was played by Michael Winters. Unfortunately, Michael Winters remained off the big screen after leaving “Gilmore Girls”, except for reprising his character in the 2016 revival. However, he has made several appearance starring in plays on stage.
Yanic Truesdale (Michel Gerard)
Coming from a French-Canadian background, Yanic Truesdale was the perfect pick to play the French concierge of Michel at the Inn. After “Gilmore Girls” wrapped filming in 2007, Truesdale went on the star in various French and American TV series. His most recent role was in 2017, in the series “The Catch”. In 2011, Truesdale also opened a spin studio called SpinEnergie.
Sean Gunn (Kirk Gleason)
Kirk Gleason was the odd ball around Stars Hollow who always seemed to be working a different job. Before playing Kirk, Sean Gunn appeared in “Gilmore Girls” two times previously – first as Mick, a DSL installer, and second as a swan delivery man. Gunn appeared in various shows after “Gilmore Girls”, however, his most prominent role was as Kraglin in both “Guardians of the Galaxy Films”. His brother, James Gunn, directed both of the films.
Liz Torres (Miss Patty)
Miss Patty, played by Liz Torres, owned and ran a dance studio in Stars Hollow. She, along with her friend Babette, were known as the town gossips. After “Gilmore Girls”, Torres worked on various films and TV series such as “Private Practice”, “Desperate Housewives”, and “Devious Maids”. Like her character, Torres has a theatrical background and has also performed in several Broadway productions.
John Cabrera (Brian Fuller)
Brian Fuller, played by John Cabrera, was the bass guitar of Lane’s band, Hep Alien. Although not many storylines revolved around Brian, viewers learned some interesting quirks about him such as he is a collector of Futurama figurines. After “Gilmore Girls”, Brian acted in and wrote several TV shows such as “H+”. He reprised his role of Brian in the 2016 revival series.
Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano)
Due to his unsupportive family, Jess Mariano always had trouble connecting with people. Although he began a relationship with Rory, he distanced himself from her which ultimately led to the end of their relationship. Since “Gilmore Girls”, Milo has starred in hit series such as “Heroes” and “This is Us”. For his performance as Jack Pearson on “This is Us” he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Jackson Douglas (Jackson Belleville)
Jackson Belleville was a farmer and the produce supplier for the Independence Inn. Through his work, he met and fell in love with Sookie. Despite having a successful marriage, the two always bickered about the quality of Jackson’s produce. Jackson Belleville was played by Jackson Douglas. Jackson Douglas has done various voiceover on shows such as “Family Guy”. He was married to comedian Alex Borstein from 1999-2014.
Liza Weil (Paris Geller)
The over-achiever, Paris Geller, played by Liza Weil, had a rocky relationship with Rory. Geller always did whatever it took in order of being the best and to get accepted into her dream college, Harvard. She originally saw Rory as a threat so they were rivals. However, over time their relationship changed and they slowly became best friends and eventually roommates. Liza Weil’s most recent role was as Bonnie Winterbottom on the Emmy winning series “How To Get Away With Murder”.
Sally Struthers (Babette Dell)
Babette Dell was the neighbor of Rory and Lorelai. She has many interesting life stories and was frequently found gossiping with her friend, Miss Patty. Before “Gilmore Girls”, Sally Struthers had an extensive acting resume. Since 2007, however, she has only done a few on-screen gigs. But, she has performed on the stage. Most recently, in 2014, she toured in the 50th anniversary production of Hello, Dolly!.
Todd Lowe (Zack Van Gerbig)
Zack Van Gerbig arrived in Stars Hollow during season 3. Played by Todd Lower, Zack was the lead singer and songwriter of Lane’s band, Hep Alien. Soon after “Gilmore Girls” ended, Todd Lowe was able to land arguably his most popular role – Terry Bellefleur in the HBO series “True Blood”. He also had recurring roles on TV series like “Ave 43” and “Shooter”.
Melissa McCarthy (Sookie St. James)
The bubbly, best friend and chef, Sookie St. James, was played by Melissa McCarthy. Sookie St. James was always loyal to not only Lorelai, but was also very dedicated to her work at the Inn. Since “Gilmore Girls”, Melissa McCarthy has become one of the hottest actresses in comedy. She has starred in several films such as “Bridesmaids”, “Identity Thief”, “Spy” , “The Boss” and “Ghostbusters”. She has been nominated for an Oscar and won an Emmy for her performance on “Saturday Night Live”.
Shelly Cole (Madeline Lynn)
Madeline Lynn was the sidekick, oldest friend, and complete opposite of Paris Geller. Therefore, in the beginning of the series, Madeline did not like Rory. However, as Paris and Rory got closer so did Rory and Madeline. She was last seen on the series dropping out of college. Since playing Madeline, Shelly Cole has largely stayed out the limelight. Her last on-screen appearance was in a short film in 2011.
Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger)
In season 5, Rory meets Logan while attending Yale University. After many obstacles, Logan ends up proposing to Rory. She turns him down and they end their relationship. After leaving “Gilmore Girls”, Czuchry had recurring roles on series such as “Friday Night Lights” and “The Good Wife”. He also starred in the film “I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell”. His most recent role was in the 2017 TV series “The Resident”.
Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore)
Alexis Bledel made her TV debut as Rory Gilmore. While still on the show, she made her lead film debut in 2002’s “Tuck Everlasting”, which was soon after followed by “Sin City” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”. Her most recent role was in the drama series “The Handmaid’s Tale” as Ofglen. She received an Emmy for her performance. She will reprise the role of Ofglen, in the show’s second season.
