Major Movie Bloopers You Didn’t Notice

Movies have the power to take you from reality to fantastical and strange lands. Unfortunately, sometimes that movie magic is lost through a blooper. Luckily, you miss a lot of blunders during your viewing so the magic is not completely lost. However, we went back and found all the bloopers that you most likely didn’t notice and won’t be able to unsee.

Braveheart

In 1995 film, Braveheart, starring Mel Gibson, followed a Scottish warrior as he led the Scottish in a rebellion against King Edward I of England. The warrior, William Wallace, was played by Gibson. Throughout the film Wallace is wearing a kilt. The film is set in the 1300’s. However, the kilt was not created until the 16th century. The film won multiple Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, but not Best Costumes – maybe this is why.

Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan is one of the most celebrated war films of recent years. Tom Hanks played the lead actor of Captain Miller. (SPOILER) In one of Miller’s final scenes, after being shot, he is seen resting against a motorcycle, amongst all the destruction. The motorcycle is actually a Ural M-63. Although it looks like it belongs, that particular model was not released until 18 years that year the movie was set.

Django Unchained

Django Unchained chronicles the story of a German bounty hunter who helps a freed slave, Django, rescue his wife from a brutal slave and plantation owner. Django is played by Jamie Foxx. After he is freed, Django is seen wearing sunglasses throughout most of the film. Unfortunately, even though he was a free man, in the 1850s most people would not be seen wearing sunglasses. Sunglasses were only worn by people who doctors believed needed them for medical reasons.

Titanic

Early in Titanic, viewers see Rose contemplate jumping off the ship and committing suicide. Luckily, Jack Dawson was there to save the day. He spoke to her about his childhood days. “I remember when I was a kid, me and my father would go ice fishing on Lake Wissota,” Jack said to Rose. She then continues to scold him when he tried to tell her what ice fishing is. The Titanic sunk in 1912. Lake Wissota was formed by a man-made dam in 1917.

The Book Of Eli

The Book of Eli is a post-apocalyptic movie that follows a man, Eli, who fights his way across America in order to protect a book. We later find out that Eli is actually blind and the book he is carrying is the Bible. Throughout the film we see Eli reading this book, which is written in Braille. Although this scene looks correct, the blunder here is the book. Braille books are normally much longer than its typed counterpart. Therefore, when the Bible is typed in braille, it is actually multiple volumes.

Back To The Future

Marty McFly certainly got himself into lots of chaos during his time travels. However, one time where he partially succeeded was at his parents’ school dance. He got on stage and played a rocking guitar solo. Unfortunately, he took it too far and slightly scared the dance attendees. Nonetheless, he was strumming a guitar that was not released until 1958. Unfortunately, this scene of the film was set in 1955.

The Lion King

The 1994 animated film, The Lion King, was the highest grossing film of the year. The story follows a young cub on his tumultuous journey of being the king of the pride lands. Along the way, he falls in love with fellow lion, Nala. Her beautiful green eyes see the true king Simba is – or were her eyes blue? It seems as though the animators weren’t sure which colors her eyes were as they change colors throughout the film.

The Mummy

The original 1999 “The Mummy”, with Brendan Fraiser, made millions, so much so that many sequels (and prequels) were made. Despite the success of the film, there were many blunders. Early in the movie, while Brendan and his team are headed towards the City of the Dead, they encounter a group of Americans also doing the same thing. A gun fight ensues on a boat. During this scene, you can clearly see the Americans wearing ear plugs.

Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump follows a not-so-smart-man as he experiences historic events, while slowly chasing the love of his life, Jenny. In one scene, Forrest receives a letter from Apple that is dated 1975. Unfortunately, the logo seen on the letter head is incorrect for the time. The font “garamond” was not used in the Apple logo until 1984. Not to mention, the garamond font was not even created until 1977.

Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman is a modern day Cinderella story where a prostitute and a wealthy business man fall in love. The prostitute, Vivian Ward, is played by Julia Roberts. There is one scene, in the hotel room, where Vivian is seen eating a croissant. After cutting away and returning back to Vivian, she is seen eating a pancake. Maybe she was very hungry and ate the croissant in less than a second and chose to continue on with a pancake. Unfortunately, we think this was just a production mistake.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

The Harry Potter films are one of the most successful movie franchises to ever be created. With strong cult followings, one might expect the films to be picked apart. Luckily, many fans missed this blooper. During one scene, a camera man is seen amongst the Hogwarts students. Although the the blooper is hard to catch, once you know its there it is hard to unsee.

Troy

The 2004 film, Troy, starring Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, and Orlando Bloom, is the story of the Trojan War loosely based on Homer’s Iliad. Brad Pitt plays the character of Achilles. The Trojan War is widely accepted as taking place in 12th or 13th century BC. One also accepted notion is airplanes did not exist in the ancient Greek times. Therefore, this shot with Achilles and an airplane in the background was definitely a missed mistake by the film editors.

The Matrix

The Matrix was widely celebrated for using great special effects within the alternate reality. Unfortunately, the production team missed this slight blunder. Although this is an amazing shot, when you look closely, a camera man is clearly visible. The production team tried their best to hide the cameraman with a black  covering. Unfortunately, the large camera lens is still clearly seen.

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Captain jack Sparrow is one of the most iconic characters of recent years. Johnny Depp brings the character to life through his quirkiness and wit. His wardrobe normally consists of the same ratty clothing with a red headscarf, and hat. Unfortunately, it seems as though this pirate sailed the high seas and somehow found an Adidas store.

Star Wars

There are many jokes about Storm Troopers, one being that they have terrible aim, as it seems they are never able to hit their targets. However, another one that should be added to the list is clumsy. One storm trooper was walking the corridors of the Death Star and was unaware of how low the ceiling was and bumped his head. Although you can not hear the collision on film, the impact was left in for all to see.

Gladiator

Gladiator is the story of general Maximus Decimus Meridius, who is betrayed by his emperor and sold into slavery. He works his way up the ranks in the gladiatorial arena and eventually gets revenge on those who betrayed him. Some of the most intense scenes in this film take place within the fighting arena. Gladiators not only had to fight men with swords but wild animals and men on chariots. In one fight scene a chariot is flipped over. The gas tank used to run the chariot is clearly seen.

Dallas Buyers Club

Dallas Buyers Club is set in 1985 Dallas and follows Ron Woodroof. Woodroof was diagnosed with AIDS and he helps others with the disease get the medication they need. There is one scene in the film where we see Woodroof, played by Matthew McConaughey, surrounded by various posters. The poster behind him in this shot shows a picture of a Lamborghini that did not exist until 2011.

Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit

Orlando Bloom played the elf, Legolas, in all the Lord of the Rings films. He reprised he role of Legolas in the prequel franchise films The Hobbit. However, somehow Legolas’ eye color changed from blue to brown. Maybe this could be explained with elfin magic. However, we think it was simply a missed detail by the costume designer.

Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction helped revamp John Travolta’s acting career as well as put Quentin Tarantino amongst the ranks of most creative directors ever. This still is from one of the most famous scenes from the film. Unfortunately, before Vincent Vegas and Jules Winnfield, played by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson respectively, were shot at (and completely missed), there were already bullet holes in the wall behind them. No matter the blunder, this film is still amazing and even won an Oscar.

Spy Kids

Spy Kids, although was a kids movie, actually had a pretty stellar cast. Actors in the film included Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa Vega, Teri Hatcher and Robert Patrick. Unfortunately, despite the amazing cast, the production team still had a slip up. In this shot, we can see a camera man’s reflection in the mirror. As this movie was targeted towards kids, it is very unlikely most of the viewers noticed this small blunder.

Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds brought the Marvel superhero Deadpool to life for the first time in 2016. Reynolds was the perfect pick for this morbid sense of humor superhero. Throughout the film, while in his “super suit” Deadpool can be seen carrying two swords on his back. In one scene, he lands and dumpster swordless. However, he then emerges with the swords on his back once again. This actually happens a few times throughout the movie.

The Aviator is a critically-acclaimed film that was nominated for 11 Oscars. The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is a biopic that chronicles the life and career of Howard Hughes from the late 1920s to the mid-1940s. Chocolate Chip Cookies were not invented until 1930.

North By Northwest

North by Northwest stars Hollywood greats such as Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint. It is a classic Hitchcock thriller with twists and suspense. The film follows a man who was mistakenly identified as a smuggler trying to steal secrets from the government. In this still Roger O. Thornhill, played by Grant, is about to be shot. Unfortunately, one of the extras in the background killed some of the suspense. The boy is seen covering his ears as he knew the loud boom from the “gun shot” was coming.

Spiderman

When Peter Parker first discovered his spidey-skills, he was not sure how to manage them. At one point he began shooting web all over his bedroom, even destroying a lamp. When his Aunt May came up to ask about all the commotion, Parker brushed off her questioning and closed the door. After he shut the door, the lamp he destroyed is mysteriously whole again and back on the shelf.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is one of the most popular Batman films to ever be created. The combination of Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker was an unbelievable duo. Unfortunately, it is rumored Ledger got a little too much into character, which is what led to his untimely death. Despite the tragedy revolving around the film, it was still enjoyed by millions. However, a blatant typo can be found in ‘The Gotham Times’. Heist is misspelled.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl

Jack Sparrow is known for certain mannerisms and looks. He goes nowhere without his hat, as it is a staple to his wardrobe (along with many other pirate’s daily outfits). Unfortunately, a crew member also enjoyed wearing hats. Except this hat does not belong. The crew member in the background of the shot is seen wearing a cowboy hat and pristine white t-shirt. This is certainly something that does not belong on a dirty pirate ship.

The Wizard Of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is arguably one of the most famous films ever created. Dorothy and her gang of misfits have stood the test of time. One of the famous symbols, of the movie, are Dorothy’s ruby slippers. Dorothy is given those slippers soon after she enters Oz and wears them till the end of her journey. Unfortunately, after saving the scarecrow, Dorothy forgot she was supposed to be wearing her ruby slippers.

Furious 7

The Fast and The Furious films are one of the most successful film franchises to date. This is a still from Furious 7 (released in 2015). It is quite obvious what is happening, there was a large explosion which the 2 characters narrowly escape. However, somehow the windows seem to be in great shape. Normally, during a large scale explosion the windows would shatter.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Any fanatics of the Harry Potter franchise know how important it is that Harry looks like his mother, Lily. Harry is told many times that he has his mother’s eyes. Both Harry and Lily’s eyes in the book are green and in the film are blue. Unfortunately, the director’s didn’t think of that aspect when they casted this girl to play young Lily. In this shot, Lily’s eyes are clearly brown.

Dirty Dancing

“Nobody puts baby in a corner,” is a famous line from the film Dirty Dancing. However, no one will be able to put Baby in a corner if she never gets to her destination. In this shot, Johnny is supposedly driving Baby as she gets dressed in the back seat. However, the car gearshift is in park. Clearly, the car is not going anywhere, which might be why Johnny was able to take a peek at what was happening in the backseat.

Grease

Grease is a movie musical that follows a good girl who falls in love with a greaser boy. Their high school love story is filled with greased hair and great songs and dances. One famous song is “Beauty School Drop Out.” The song essentially tells Frenchie that she needs to leave beauty school and go back to high school. However, to set the scene, she decides to stay in an diner after it closes. Before closing, the waitress turns out the lights. However, her elbow is no where near the light switch when the lights go out.

The Big Lebowski is a comedic film all about mistaken identity. “The Dude” Lebowski and his bowling buddies set out on a quest that is filled of curse words, drinking and humor. During one scene, The Dude is thrown into the back of a limo. Later, The Dude is seen riding in a cab with a driver who loves the Eagles. If you pay close attention, one will notice the license plates on each car are the same.

Jurassic Park

The 1993 original Jurassic Park showed the scary insight into what might happen if we clone or try to recreate animals that have gone extinct. Spoiler, cloning dinosaurs is never a good idea. The vicious velociraptors are certainly not a dinosaur to be reckoned with. A pair of these raptors are seen chasing after the two children in the film, Lex and Tim. Unfortunately, that velociraptor is a little less intimidating when you see a human hand steady its tail.
