Who doesn’t love going on vacation? Vacations are the perfect way to kick back, relax, and get away from it all and still find the time for an adventure or two. One of the most popular things to do on vacation is to take photographs. Photos can help you preserve memories over the years and share a vacation with those that weren’t there. But they can also make for some pretty hilarious moments, too.
Apparently, this friendly stingray decided that he was missing out by not getting in the photo with these three lovely ladies. From their reactions, you can see exactly what they thought of this development. I’m not sure why they’re so scared – he’s just being friendly, after all! I guess it’s true what they say: three’s company, but four is a crowd. Way to make him feel unwanted!
Maybe the rules and guidelines have changed since the last time I flew, but I’m pretty sure that this young lady should not count as carry-on luggage. However, this woman seems determined to fit in the overhead compartment nonetheless. I suppose this is the way to save on air travel these days? It makes you wish that more of us could fit in those tiny compartments, doesn’t it?
Another Unhappy Participant
First, we saw the shock and fear on the faces of the women that took a picture with a stingray, and now this. You know, if you’re going to take photos in shallow water that’s full of exotic creatures, you may want to make sure that you aren’t deathly afraid of them, first. This poor lady wants to be anywhere but where she is right now. Anywhere in the world!
Did She Say Yes?
Everyone loves a good public marriage proposal. Apparently, that truth extends even beyond humans to the animal kingdom. This hippo is absolutely entranced by the situation. He wants to know very badly whether she will say yes or no. By the looks of her reaction, it seems that she will say yes. You have to wonder what her reaction looked like when she saw this photo, though!
There’s regular, everyday photobombing, and then there’s a next level performance like the one the man in the background is giving here. Think of the remarkable timing involved as he launched himself into the air, hoping he’d be just above their smiling faces as the shutter went off. This guy certainly did a great job, and I’m sure the couple had a good laugh when they saw the photo later.
A For Effort
What do cheerleaders do when they’re on vacation? Apparently, they go to Italy and take funny photos in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Sure, we have seen these types of photos approximately a billion times, but rarely do you see any that involve anything more than the right camera angle. There is some serious athleticism taking place here from both the girls holding the kicker and the girl herself. Well done!
Scarier Than She Thought
This woman had the opportunity to take a photograph with a baby alligator and thought that it would be fun. Even though it’s just a baby, its mouth was even taped shut for safety reasons. Still, when the moment actually came, and the gator got near her face, she reacted with pure, unbridled fear. Look at the person behind her, looking over wondering what all the screaming’s about!
Jamaica can be a very romantic place, especially when spending time at one of the many picturesque oceanfront resorts found along the coastline. This couple thought they had the perfect idea for a photo. “Imagine, we could be kissing while on these horses riding with the ocean at our backs!” they said. Well, the poor guide does not share their enthusiasm, as you can plainly see.
No You Didn’t
A lot of people like to brag on social media to make their lives seem a little more exciting than they are in reality. This girl is apparently still too young to know how to fake a photo convincingly, as her photo of her in front of the Eiffel tower is just a little bit unrealistic. Hopefully, Stacie was in on the joke and not expecting people to believe this!
Not the Most Romantic Kiss
Many places have certain legends, rumors, or myths about specific landmarks and locations. Ireland has a number of places that fit that bill, including the famous Blarney Stone, which is located fittingly at Blarney Castle. Legend has it that those who kiss the stone will be able to effortlessly impress others with their charm and wit. Unfortunately, getting into position for the smooch is a bit awkward.
Dressed For The Occasion
Look, I know that seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time is kind of a big deal. Obviously, these folks agree. That’s why they’re all geared up with their foam liberty hats and avidly taking photos of the statue as they float past it. Still, you can’t help but wonder: aren’t they all going to end up with pretty much the same photo? Couldn’t one of them just take the picture and share it with the rest?
It’s All About The Angle
Have you ever seen a photo of someone else taking a selfie? It looks kind of awkward, doesn’t it? Well, it’s the same thing with those “holding up the Tower of Pisa” photos. These two ladies are clearly in the right spot for the person taking their photo, but for everyone else, they just look kind of silly. And look at all the people taking the same kind of photo in the background!
I don’t know what’s worse…having the same haircut as all of your siblings (male and female) or going to South Dakota for your family vacation. I mean, South Dakota is a perfectly fine place to live, but to actually go there as a destination? I’m not so sure. And taking a photo in front of the sign? Are they under the impression that they’ve discovered the state? I just don’t get it.
Your Biggest Fan
Okay, I want you to picture something. Picture 2Pac’s biggest fan. Imagine what a huge fan of the late rap icon would probably look like. Does it look like the woman below? No, she looks more like she’d be embroiled in a tense game of World of Warcraft than listening to 90s West Coast rap. But hey, here we are, and she got a rather disturbing looking portrait of 2Pac along with the puzzling addition of “Keepin’ It Real” on the bottom for good measure.
The 4th of July is a great time to take a vacation. Mom and Dad already have the day off, so why not get out of town, enjoy some fireworks, and maybe dress up appropriately for the occasion? Well, this family certainly decided to get into the spirit and thought, “Hey, the red, white, and blue socks, shorts, and shirts aren’t enough. Let’s add upside down flower pots with flags sticking out of them on our heads!”
Traveling alone isn’t for everybody. There are a lot of advantages, sure: you don’t have to ask anyone else’s opinion on the itinerary, you get tables at restaurants faster, and it’s surely cheaper, too. However, most people just find it kind of…sad. This woman is certainly not one of those people. The sweet sunglasses, colorful attire, and of course, the selfie stick? She’s perfectly happy vacationing alone.
What A Surprise!
Little kids are funny. You can tell them that something is harmless, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to be scared out of their minds regardless. In a way, those are probably good instincts to have. So even though dolphins are quite friendly and this particular dolphin is behind industrial strength glass, you get this gem of a photo as a result.
If you’ve ever seen a professional photographer at work, it’s quite a sight. They’re all over the place, jumping around, moving to different areas, taking photos from different angles. Well, this guy has the mindset of a professional photographer, if not the skill level. Look at how he lunges forward in order to get the perfect shot! If only the person in charge of emptying that garbage can took his job that seriously.
Although the hairstyles and clothing in this retro pic may be out of date, having a miserable time on family vacations is a tradition that continues to this day. These fine folks couldn’t be bothered to fake a smile in the Magic Kingdom of Disney World, and Junior in the front won’t even look at the camera! What’s wrong…did Bobby throw up on the teacup ride again? Smile, people!
Letting It All Hang Out
This guy and the serious amateur photographer from earlier would be great friends. This guy does not care what anybody thinks of him; he is going to get that perfect photo, and nothing else matters! Unfortunately, unbeknownst to him another photographer is getting a memorable shot of his own, and it includes a rather hefty dude wearing a fanny pack.
Dad? A Little Help Here!
You have to wonder exactly what’s going on here. Is the boy who is hanging by his neck on the end of his life jacket being punished in some bizarre fashion? Is the father trying so hard to take a decent photo that he doesn’t notice that his son is in need of a little help? And look at the smile on big brother’s face there. Was he behind this whole thing all along?
Yep, That’s The Off Ramp
I wonder if this nice older couple is related to the kids from the South Dakota photo earlier. I mean, it’s not every day that you see people so excited to take photos in front of rather mundane road signs. Are these two just really excited to go to Chicago? Because if so, there are probably some really cool buildings and sights to take photos of about a couple miles down the road, instead.
Hi There, Stranger!
A lot of people love nature so much that they want to get up close and personal with it. Those are the fine folks that become park rangers, zookeepers or take on similar jobs that get them out and about with animals. This kid, as you can tell, is not one of those people. He thought that by staying in the car on vacation, he wouldn’t have to encounter any animals. Guess again!
Not Feeling It
Everyone in the family here is in a different mindset. Dad is trying to look smooth and suave for the camera. Meanwhile, his oldest child is just happy to be spending some time with the family. Mom, however, doesn’t have any interest in standing next to her loved ones. And nobody whatsoever is paying attention to the toddler eyeing a precipitous drop from Dad’s backpack. Hopefully, the straps on that thing are made well!
Photos are an important part of any vacation. But you have to wonder about the reason for taking this family photo right there at that particular time. You have the EMTs walking through the background, a couple of kids digging through the garbage can behind them, and Ramon is hanging out suspiciously by the phone booth with his best floral print scarf, to boot. What exactly is the idea?
Alright, so this family wanted to pretend that they had been ice climbing through rough terrain and simply decided to commemorate the moment, but the problem is that nobody decided to dress the part. Also, I’m not sure what’s more creepy about this photo: the nightmare fuel polar bear with his arm around the girls or the used car salesman that’s posing as the father.
Might As Well Jump
This poor family. So Mom is really trying her hardest, and it seems like it was probably her idea to do the whole “jump and smile while holding hands for the camera” thing in the first place. But it just isn’t going to work. Little sister is about to flop into the wet sand after Dad let go of her, and big sister didn’t even bother jumping in the air! Come on, people, let’s get with the program!
I have a hunch that the dad in this photo only lived for a few more moments after this photo was taken. Why? Because if you’ve ever tried to get two small children to pose for a cute pajama photo on Christmas, you know how hard it is to accomplish it. Both kids are actually looking at the camera, their eyes are open, and they’re even kind of smiling! But Dad snuck in and ruined it with what he thought was a hilarious practical joke. Okay, it is kind of funny.
Get A Good Look
What in the world is the guy in this photo trying to accomplish? Is he checking for an echo? Making sure that the statue is anatomically correct? Or maybe he’s just a fan of the movie Tommy Boy, where Chris Farley tells the famous anecdote about taking the butcher’s word for the quality of a T-bone steak. It almost makes you wish that this famous iron bull could fart just once.
The best vacation photos are the ones where the mother clearly had an idea for a cute photo, everyone else hated it, but they had to go along with it anyway. In this photo from the 90s, these two fanny pack-sporting children are not that excited about wearing silly hats and posing, but they’re doing it anyway, kind of. Mom won’t be too happy when she sees the expressions on their faces!
